"Drops of Jupiter" by the group Train is a excellent example of a poetic song. The lyrics laden with poetic devices. First off the entire song is an Ode because he is singing the song in tribute to his mother who is dead. Other examples include: Four Similes at the start of the song, "She acts like summer and walks like rain/ She listens like spring and she talks like June." These similes are more of the metaphysical nature. In the chorus Personification is used slightly: "Did you fall for a shooting star? One without a permanent scar." Through out the entire song there is strong use of both Repetition and Alliteration.
